Celebrate Holy Week at St. Mary’s
Holy Week is a chance for us to slow down the pace of the church calendar and walk with Christ in real time through his passion week. Walk with us at St. Mary of the Snows as we join the path our Saviour took to and from the tomb.
Palm Sunday March 25 - 10 a.m.
We start our journey with Christ in Holy Week with his entrance into
Jerusalem, including the Blessing of the Palms and the Processional with
Palms. (Also simultaneous children’s program)
Maundy Thursday March 29 - 7 p.m.
Holy Eucharist with Footwashing and Stripping of the Altar
Good Friday March 30 - Noon
Stations of the Cross: In prayer and devotion, follow the steps that Jesus took
from condemnation, to the crucifixion and ultimate ly, to the tomb.
Followed by Good Friday Liturgy with Veneration of the Cross.
Easter Vigil March 31 - 7 p.m.
Although celebrated Holy Saturday evening, it is the dramatic Easter vigil
liturgy that marks the beginning of Easter. We are awaiting our master's return
by candlelight. The service includes new fire, readings from salvation
history, baptisms, and bell ringing and Alleluias to celebrate our risen Lord.
(Also simultaneous children's program.)
Easter Sunday April 1 - 10 a.m.
"You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He has risen, He
is not here . . . Go, tell His disciples . . . that He goes before you."
Traditional Easter Sunday liturgy.
